Position Overview
Responsible for supporting the Human Resources Department by assisting with personnel file maintenance, data entry, and recruitment processes. This role provides hands-on exposure to HR operations in a professional setting, helping interns build foundational skills in Human Resource administration while contributing to efficient departmental workflow.
Duties/Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Track candidate offer status and provide updates to the HR team.
- Create and communicate pre-employment testing requirements to candidates.
- Clearance of candidates to the HR Coordinator once requirements are complete.
- Collaborate with candidates and new employees to complete company-specific tasks and requests.
- Track and manage candidates from the offer stage to the first day of employment
- Assist with applicant processing, including background checks, physicals, and drug screens.
- Support onboarding processes by preparing new hire documentation and orientation materials.HR Administration & Employee Records
HR Administration & Employee Records
- Help process personnel documentation and assist with maintaining personnel files.
- employee information into HR systems and assist with updates as needed.
- Support the filing and organization of employee records.
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Provide administrative support during open enrollment and benefits onboarding.
Training & Compliance
- Monitor training attendance, order meeting refreshments, and follow up on compliance requirements.
- Provide support for training and performance review processes as needed.
Other Projects/Ad Hoc Duties
- Contribute to cross-departmental HR initiatives as assigned.
- Support HR staff with day-to-day requests and special projects.
- Perform other duties consistent with an intern role, as directed by management.
Education and Experience
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or related field required.
- Prior internship or HR-related experience a plus, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Windows-based software
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor with eagerness to learn.
