Position Overview
Earthwork Assistant Superintendent assists with building the earthwork component of a project including site grading, road construction, road improvements, drainage improvements, road maintenance, dewatering, soil correction, foundation excavation and backfill, utilities and any other necessary civil improvements required for a project.

Position Overview
Earthwork Assistant Superintendent assists with building the earthwork component of a project including site grading, road construction, road improvements, drainage improvements, road maintenance, dewatering, soil correction, foundation excavation and backfill, utilities and any other necessary civil improvements required for a project.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage a wide variety of Earthwork applications.
- Provide direct in field supervision of earthwork, site construction and underground utility construction.
- Schedule crews.
- Coordination of subcontractor trades.
- Schedule material deliveries and manage material, equipment and personnel.
- Submit field reports, track time on task, track onsite material inventory and deliveries with Superintendent.
- Accurately records and tracks time and quantities completed daily.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant heavy equipment operating experience
- Understanding of soils
- Understanding of site utilities
- Experience reading blueprints/plans
- Experience with large excavation equipment including dozers, track hoes, tractors, scrapers etc.
- Self-motivated with the ability to working productively without constant supervision
- Ability to manage multiple operations
- Ability to lead self-perform crew
- Understanding and working knowledge of the Vaughn safety plan
- Able to contribute and conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and audits
- Knowledge of means and methods of earthwork construction scopes
- Ability preforming takeoffs for earthwork tasks
- Ability to plan scopes of work 2-3 weeks out
- Ability to project manpower 2-3 weeks out
- Lift 50 pounds
- Move 100 pounds
- Work under exposure to inclement weather conditions
- Climb scaffolds
- Climb ladders
- Walk projects to supervise work being installed
- Drive vehicles for company business
- Ability to walk several flights of stairs on high rise buildings
