What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant -Alexandria, LA position at Vaughn Automotive Group?
The Accounting Inventory Clerk is responsible for accurately managing and maintaining the dealership’s vehicle inventory records, processing transactions, and supporting the accounting department.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Bill new and used vehicle deals and post into accounting
- Bill wholesales and dealer trades and post into accounting
- Process payments received for new and used car deals and dealer trades
- Perform account reconciliations
- Review account detail daily to identify issues, errors or irregularities
- Provide administrative support to management, other departments and employees as needed
- Accurately input details of new and used vehicles (VIN, mileage, color, features) into dealership management systems.
- Verify and update inventory costs, including factory invoices, shipping fees, and dealer-installed options.
- Arrange for drivers for all locations and post all cost involved to correct vehicle.
- Post intercompany transactions
- Physical inventory at all locations
- Floorplan reconciliation
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will offer the following:
- Previous experience in accounting, inventory management, or a similar role (automotive dealership experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with dealership management systems (e.g., Dealertrack is a plus.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (an associate degree in accounting or a related field is a plus).
