Duties
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility to promote comfort and independence
- Perform vital signs monitoring including pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration rates to track patient health status
- Collect specimens such as blood, urine, or other samples accurately following aseptic techniques for laboratory analysis
- Support medical procedures like catheterization, IV insertion, suturing assistance, and specimen collection under supervision
- Operate medical equipment including EKG machines for cardiac rhythm analysis and cardiac event monitoring systems
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient data using clinical information systems to ensure seamless communication among healthcare providers
- Respond promptly to emergency situations by performing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and supporting emergency room protocols
Skills
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for effective patient care
- Proficiency in venipuncture, phlebotomy, and specimen collection techniques with attention to aseptic procedures
- Experience with hospital environments, particularly in acute or emergency care settings such as ER or ICU
- Ability to operate medical equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to infection control standards
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and providing compassionate patient support
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during busy shifts
- Familiarity with clinical information systems for accurate record keeping and data entry
