Job Description:
Vasquez & Company LLP is growing rapidly and seeking a Tax Supervisor. This role is an integral part of our Tax Department in Glendale, CA, working closely with the Tax Team to ensure assignments are completed in a timely and efficient manner and that our clients receive excellent service.
Type: Full-Time
Qualifications:
- 5 years of public accounting experience with staff supervision experience required
- Minimum 5-7 years of income tax experience in complex returns
- Strong knowledge of state and federal income tax laws
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Great attitude, team player, collaborative, proactive, and tech-savvy
- CPA preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Review of federal and state partnership returns (1065s), corporation returns (1120s), S-corporation returns (1120-S), individual returns (1040s), exempt organization returns (990s and 990-Ts)
- Review and preparation of quarterly estimates
- Support and train staff in the preparation of all aspects of individual, corporate, partnership, foreign, and exempt organization returns
- Interact and build client relationships and support the Director/Partner on client accounts
- Planning and executing day-to-day activities of engagements for diversified clients
- Coordinating the various phases of an engagement, including staff requirements, engagement planning, budgeting, scheduling, monitoring due dates, and coordination with the audit team
- Prepare and review more complex tax returns, including foreign reporting returns
- Utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters
- Collaborate with directors/partners and clients to deliver quality tax services to a diverse clientele
- Proactively monitor changes in Federal and state tax rules to ensure that appropriate planning, compliance, and reporting actions are undertaken
- Identifies, collaborates with the team, and implements process improvements within the tax department to ensure efficient and accurate return processing
- Proactively identifies and resolves tax issues, pending matters, and properly documents and communicates the same
- Assist in special projects as needed that fall within the scope of capabilities
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
