What are the responsibilities and job description for the Showroom Sales & Stock Associate position at Vasesource?
A large wholesaler of glass and ceramic containers for the event and floral design industry, based in Fairfield NJ with a very busy showroom in the New York flower market. We are seeking a qualified candidate for a Showroom Sales Associate for our NYC location. Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday from 5:00am – 2:00pm
We are looking for a reliable candidate who is able to work well within a fast paced team environment. This candidate must be professional, courteous, energetic, resilient and, when it comes to the showroom, have an eye for what looks good. More than anything, this candidate needs to possess a strong work ethic and have a positive approach to their jobs.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to learn the products and services offered, determine merchandise required by customer and suggest alternative and/or additional items related to customer's order.
- Create Sales Order, Collect Payments, and assist to resolve customer complaints and/or merchandise returns/exchanges.
- Communicate inventory issues to Leaders
- Responsible for receiving all products into warehouse and reporting any discrepancies.
- Assist in shipping and receiving merchandise, loading and unloading trucks/equipment, preparing orders for pick up/delivery, and distributing required paperwork for processing.
- Manage/process restock to the floor
- Keep the warehouse organized and set to receive any additional product the following day.
- Participate in routine audits of inventory
- Perform special projects or duties as assigned by the Leaders or Store Manager.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping all retail areas, warehouse neat and orderly.
- Support other areas of the company if needed.
Skills Required:
- Possess a strong understanding of customer service because they often need to demonstrate products for potential consumers
- Previous Showroom/Retail/administrative experience and floral industry background is a plus.
- Strong computer skills is required
