What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Vascular & Surgical Care Northwest?
We are looking for a highly motivated Medical Assistant to staff our Sequim vascular surgical clinic, as well as to provide remote back-up for our other clinics. Should have experience in a hospital, surgical or medical clinic. We provide a range of vascular medical and surgical services, including wound care and interventional procedures.
We focus on patients with multiple and complex medical problems, which requires extensive communication with patients, their families and other health care providers, so excellent organizational and communication skills are required. The pay rate offered will reflect these challenges, as well as the candidate's experience and talents.
Responsibilities
- Organize, schedule and confirm appointments, and coordinate patient follow-up.
- Coordinate with testing laboratories and imaging centers, primary care and other physician offices
- Serve as receptionist for patient office visits three or four days a week
- Enter insurance and demographic information into electronic medical records.
Skills
- Work experience in a hospital or internal medicine or surgical clinic
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Ability to work in a clinic environment and communicate with complex, elderly and ill patients
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and medical office software; EPIC experience helpful
