Position Summary
The Medical Assistant/Scribe supports our providers by preparing patients for exams, assisting with routine clinical tasks, and accurately documenting medical visits in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). This dual role is essential to ensuring smooth patient flow, timely care, and accurate medical documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Scribe experience required.
- Proficient in Spanish/English writing, reading and speaking
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, Medical Scribe, or similar clinical support role.
- Strong ability to document and transcribe patient care accurately in an EHR system.
- High level of computer proficiency; ability to enter information accurately across digital platforms.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills; able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential patient information with the utmost integrity.
- Experience interacting with the public in a courteous, professional manner.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Language Skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Spanish Bilingual is a plus
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Patient Care
- Prepare treatment rooms to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Verify the patient's visit purpose and record the medical history in the EHR.
- Perform preliminary physical tasks, including vital signs and routine clinical procedures.
- Communicate patient needs effectively to providers and care team members.
- Assist with compression stocking fitting and placement.
- Manage patient flow to enhance access and overall experience.
- Explain treatment procedures clearly; provide translation support if applicable.
- Schedule follow-up and recall appointments.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Provide prescription information to pharmacies under provider direction.
- Complete all EHR documentation accurately at the end of each patient visit.
- Administer injections and ensure proper documentation and tracking.
- Maintain complete, accurate logs, forms, records, and patient charts.
- Expertly document patient encounters and transcribe provider notes into the EHR.
- Collaborate closely with providers to finalize and submit medical records.
- Communicate professionally with patients and supervising physicians at all times.

Physical Requirements

- Sufficient manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate office and medical equipment.
- Ability to hear and speak clearly with patients and staff.
- Capability to lift up to 20 pounds and assist with transporting patients via wheelchair or gurney.
- Must be able to drive between clinic locations as needed.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced outpatient medical office with frequent changes in schedule and workflow.
- Occasional overtime may be required on busy clinic days when patient demand is high.
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
