Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant/Front Desk professional to join a vascular surgeon's office. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes
- Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and perform intake procedures
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration
- Assist providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, specimen collection, and basic wound care
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and sterilization of equipment
- Document patient encounters accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate patient flow within the clinic or hospital setting
- Support administrative duties such as answering phones, managing patient records, and handling correspondence
- Assist with ICD coding, documentation for billing purposes, and other clerical support as needed
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA standards and safety protocols
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and ICD coding
- Experience in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, urgent care, or specialty areas such as dermatology or geriatrics
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and assist with basic patient care procedures
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and basic life support (BLS) certification preferred
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Professionalism, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role
