Job Overview
We are seeking for a yacht captain for 53 center console fishing boat/pleasure craft. Responsibilities include captaining the boat, general maintenance of Boat, Boat Cleaning, light mechanical work, coordinating with mechanics for any more involved repairs, ensuring that registration and safety systems are up-to-date , and responsibilities also include general maintenance for two jet skis, and a Bay boat. Fishing and or spearfishing experience is a plus. housing will be provided at reduced cost if needed. 401(k) and health insurance included. 130k/yr.
Duties
- Oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Lead and manage crew members, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning and maintenance.
- Implement rigging procedures and techniques to facilitate safe loading, unloading, and transport of materials.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
- Train new crew members on safety practices, operational procedures, and equipment handling.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, incidents, and equipment status for reporting purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a relevant field, preferably with military or management background.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Familiarity with rigging techniques and safety protocols is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
