Surgery Scheduler
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule outpatient vascular surgeries and related procedures, considering patient needs, urgency, and surgeon availability.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing them with procedure details, preparation instructions, and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Maintain and update patient records with procedure schedules, insurance information, and other necessary data.
- Work closely with medical staff to ensure schedules are optimized for the most efficient use of resources.
- Handle rescheduling or cancellation requests and manage waitlists to ensure timely care for our patients.
- Provide bilingual support (English/Spanish) to ensure clear communication with our diverse patient population.
- Follow up with patients to confirm appointments and procedures.
- Liaise with insurance companies for procedure authorizations and verify patient insurance coverage.
- Assist with the management of surgical documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a vascular surgery setting.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a medical assistant is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical scheduling software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service.
