PURPOSE

The Director of Talent Acquisition owns the enterprise-wide talent acquisition strategy for VASA Fitness, leading the recruitment function across all club-level and Support Center positions in a multi-state, high-growth fitness organization. This role builds and scales the infrastructure, technology, and team needed to attract, hire, and retain top talent across approximately 18 districts and 80 club locations spanning over 11 states. A core focus of this role is deep expertise in hourly, high-volume recruiting, ensuring club-level positions are filled quickly and consistently at scale.

The Director leads and develops the Talent Acquisition team, partners with executive leadership and field leaders on workforce planning, owns the employer brand strategy, manages the TA budget and vendor relationships, and drives the adoption of AI and automation across the recruiting lifecycle to improve speed and efficiency while ensuring compliant, responsible use. This role is a strategic partner to the business, translating growth plans into a proactive, data-driven hiring strategy that ensures VASA hires the right talent at every level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Own and drive the enterprise-wide talent acquisition strategy, aligning recruiting priorities with VASA's growth and business objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Talent Acquisition team, including managers and recruiters, setting goals and holding the team accountable to performance and hiring metrics.
  • Build and implement scalable strategies to attract, recruit, and retain top-tier talent across both club-level and Support Center roles.
  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert in hourly, high-volume recruiting, building and continuously refining strategies tailored to fast-paced, high-turnover club-level hiring at scale.
  • Own end-to-end recruiting and staffing strategy for new club openings, ensuring each location is fully staffed with qualified talent ahead of launch.
  • Manage relationships with external recruiting firms and staffing agencies, including selection, contract negotiation, and performance oversight.
  • Evaluate, implement, and champion AI-powered recruiting tools and automation (e.g. AI sourcing, chatbots, automated screening and scheduling) to increase speed-to-hire and efficiency across high-volume hiring.
  • Ensure the responsible, compliant use of AI in recruiting, partnering with Legal and Compliance to monitor evolving AI employment regulations and mitigate bias and compliance risk.
  • Partner with executive leadership, Regional Directors, and District Managers to forecast workforce needs and build proactive hiring plans that support field growth.
  • Own and evolve the employer branding strategy, ensuring it reflects VASA's culture, mission, and growth opportunities across all candidate touchpoints.
  • Design and continuously improve recruiting procedures, including job application, interview, and onboarding processes, at an enterprise level.
  • Own the Talent Acquisition budget, including agency, sourcing, and technology spend, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Evaluate, select, and own the roadmap for Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruiting technology, leveraging data analytics to improve hiring efficiency and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain scalable pipelines of qualified candidates for high-volume field roles as well as specialized Support Center positions.
  • Build and report on enterprise recruiting metrics and dashboards, presenting insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Implement and evolve sourcing strategies (e.g. social recruiting, Boolean searches, diversity sourcing) to strengthen the candidate pipeline.
  • Advise and coach hiring managers and field leaders on interviewing techniques and hiring best practices.
  • Monitor labor legislation across all states of operation, partnering with Legal and Compliance to mitigate risk and keep the organization ahead of regulatory change.
  • Represent VASA Fitness at job fairs, career events, and industry conferences, and build the company's professional network through relationships with HR professionals, colleges, and community partners.
  • Partner with the People & Culture leadership team on succession planning and talent pipeline strategy for critical field and Support Center roles.
