Ability to explain case usage, verbal aspect distinctions, and phonetic differences from Russian while preparing students for communicative proficiency in Ukrainian.
• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching Ukrainian Cyrillic reading and writing, case system application, and conversational fluency development. Guides students through declining nouns across seven cases, conjugating verbs with correct aspect selection, constructing complex sentences, and comprehending spoken Ukrainian. Emphasizes communication practice and connects Ukrainian language to literature, history, music, and contemporary Ukrainian culture and society.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Ukrainian language curricula and common challenges such as mastering the case declension system, understanding aspect pair usage, and developing Cyrillic reading fluency. Adapts instruction using case charts, structured drills, authentic Ukrainian media, and conversation practice to support heritage speakers and new learners from beginning through advanced levels seeking communicative proficiency.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
