- Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug classification, autonomic pharmacology, cardiovascular drugs, antimicrobials, endocrine agents, central nervous system drugs, chemotherapy agents, and drug interactions. Ability to explain receptor binding mechanisms, dose-response relationships, therapeutic indices, and adverse effect profiles while preparing students for nursing licensure, pharmacy boards, and medical practice.
- Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at breaking down drug mechanism of action, absorption-distribution-metabolism-excretion pathways, and dosage calculations. Guides students through comparing drug classes, analyzing patient-specific pharmacotherapy considerations, interpreting drug interaction charts, and applying pharmacological principles to clinical scenarios. Emphasizes safe medication administration and connects pharmacology to patient safety and evidence-based prescribing.
- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with pharmacology curricula for nursing, pharmacy, and medical programs, and common challenges such as memorizing drug names and classifications, understanding cytochrome P450 interactions, and performing dosage calculations accurately. Adapts instruction using drug classification tables, clinical case scenarios, and NCLEX or board-style practice questions to support healthcare students preparing for licensure examinations.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
