- Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of supply and demand analysis, consumer theory, production and cost functions, market structures including perfect competition, monopoly, monopolistic competition, and oligopoly, factor markets, and market failure. Ability to explain marginal analysis, elasticity, welfare economics, and game theory while preparing students for economic reasoning and advanced coursework.
- Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at breaking down consumer and producer surplus calculations, cost curve analysis, and market equilibrium problems. Guides students through graphing supply and demand shifts, calculating deadweight loss, analyzing pricing strategies under different market structures, and evaluating government intervention effects. Emphasizes graphical analysis and connects microeconomics to business strategy, public policy, and resource allocation decisions.
- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with microeconomics curricula at introductory and intermediate levels and common challenges such as understanding marginal analysis, graphing cost curves accurately, and applying game theory concepts. Adapts instruction using graph-drawing practice, real-world market examples, and problem-based learning to support students from introductory through intermediate microeconomics courses.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
