- Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of limits and continuity, derivatives (power rule, product rule, quotient rule, chain rule), implicit differentiation, related rates, optimization, curve sketching, integration (substitution, by parts), definite and indefinite integrals, area, and volume. Ability to explain fundamental theorem of calculus while preparing students for AP Calculus AB/BC exams.
- Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at breaking down limit evaluation techniques and derivative applications step-by-step. Guides students through optimization problems, related rates scenarios, Riemann sum approximations, and integral applications. Emphasizes conceptual understanding of rate of change and accumulation, connecting calculus to physics, economics, and engineering contexts.
- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Calculus I curricula and common struggles including chain rule application, optimization setup, integration techniques, and area between curves. Adapts instruction using graphical interpretations, real-world modeling problems, and AP-style practice to support students from high school AP to college-level coursework.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
