Guides students through interpreting rates of change in business contexts, setting up optimization word problems, and computing definite integrals for accumulated quantities. Emphasizes economic interpretation over abstract theory and connects calculus to supply chain, pricing, and investment analysis.
- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with business calculus curricula and common challenges such as applying the chain rule to revenue functions, setting up optimization problems from word descriptions, and understanding integral applications in economics. Adapts instruction using business case studies, graphing calculators, and step-by-step worked examples to support business and economics majors with limited calculus backgrounds.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
