Varsity Scoreboards is hiring a full-time Retail Sales Consultant to support our nationwide sales team. This role works inbound leads and follow-up activity primarily by phone and email, helps customers select the right scoreboard or video display solution, builds accurate quotes, and carries orders from request through close. You’ll build long-term relationships, develop new opportunities, stay on top of monthly sales goals, and represent Varsity Scoreboards at select national trade shows.
Responsibilities and Duties
Customer Relationship Management
- Utilize CRM software (HubSpot) to establish, maintain, and service new and existing customer accounts
- Record customer communications and submit internal tickets
Sales and Customer Support
- Establish new customer relationships through inbound call rotation and emailed quote requests
- Prepare and deliver accurate price quotes in response to customer inquiries
Account and Time Management
- Develop and maintain a daily work schedule with a focus on supporting key accounts
- Perform timely follow-ups and ensure all customer inquiries are addressed promptly
Product Knowledge
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the full product lineup
- Adapt quickly to product updates, additions, and changes
Order Processing
- Verify order details and document customer approvals
- Submit accurate customer orders
Team and Performance Contributions
- Achieve monthly individual and team sales goals
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge of industry trends
- Assist teammates during periods of unavailability
- Attend national trade shows as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent sales experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional phone presence and etiquette
- Demonstrated ability to close sales and drive revenue
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Proficient computer and typing skills
- Embrace change with flexibility and professionalism in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Friendly and professional demeanor.
- Advanced working knowledge of Windows-based computer systems.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $36,000 plus commission
- Estimated First-Year Commission: $20,000
Additional Information
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- In-office role with periodic travel for trade shows.
- Must be able to reliably commute or relocate prior to start date.
