Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Porter at Varsity Campus. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for residents, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Keep all areas of the property clean and tidy, including corridors, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces.

• Dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying trash as needed.

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of common equipment, such as printers, copiers, and facilities.

• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department for repair or resolution.

2. Inventory Management:

• Monitor and restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as needed.

• Report any supply shortages or discrepancies for timely replenishment.

3. Waste Management:

• Empty and clean trash and recycling bins regularly, ensuring proper disposal and adherence to recycling policies.

• Separate and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with established guidelines.

4. Collaboration:

• Coordinate with other staff to ensure smooth operations, timely completion of tasks, and effective communication.

• Assist in providing support during emergencies, such as evacuations or lockdowns, as directed by the administration.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Prior experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred.

• Ability to understand and follow safety protocols and procedures.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all areas.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.

• Flexibility with work schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as required.

Working Conditions:

• The job requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments, exposed to various weather conditions.

• Some work may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and waste materials.

• The job may also include periods of physical exertion and the need to lift heavy objects.
