Night Shift Chemical Compounder – Fragrance Manufacturing
Job Description
A Night Shift Chemical Compounder is responsible for accurately blending raw materials and fragrance ingredients according to established formulas and production schedules in a fragrance manufacturing environment. This role ensures product quality, safety compliance, and efficient overnight production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, weigh, and mix fragrance oils, solvents, and chemical ingredients according to batch formulas.
- Operate blending tanks, mixers, pumps, scales, and other production equipment.
- Follow detailed manufacturing instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor batch quality and ensure consistency throughout the compounding process.
- Maintain accurate production records, inventory logs, and batch documentation.
- Label and package finished compounds properly for storage or shipment.
- Perform equipment cleaning and sanitation between batches.
- Follow all OSHA, GMP, and company safety regulations while handling chemicals.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, spills, or quality issues to supervisors.
- Assist with inventory control and raw material handling.
- Work collaboratively with quality control, warehouse, and production teams during overnight operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in chemical manufacturing, fragrance production, cosmetics, food manufacturing, or industrial compounding preferred.
- Ability to read formulas, measurements, and production instructions accurately.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Comfortable working with strong fragrances and chemical materials.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
