Job Overview
The Parking Attendant is responsible for monitoring and supporting leasing groups on campus Saturdays.
This position has access to valuable equipment and keys and is expected to handle property with integrity and professionalism. This position has regular contact with campus visitors, volunteers and staff and is expected to represent Variety in a professional manner.
The Parking Attendant will report directly to the Director of Facilities and Construction.
Essential Functions:
- Attendant will supervise the opening and closing of entry gate at start and end of shift
- Attendant will direct all visitors to and from guest parking lot to turf field
- Attendant will direct all visitors to drive at a moderate rate of speed
- Attendant will ensure that all visitors always remain on dedicated roadways and walkways
- Attendant will ensure that visitors do not enter programming areas of operation
- Attendant will direct all visitors to refrain from walking on grass areas of campus
- Attendant will direct all non-supervised minors to return to location of parent/guardian
- Attendant may Operate Variety golf carts if approved by Human Resources
- On site attendance Saturday, possibly occasional Sunday
- Other duties as assigned by Facility Manager or Director of facilities
- Supervise gymnasium and turf field attendees
- Enforce Variety Campus rules and regulations
Non-Essential Functions:
- Attend relevant workshops or join professional groups as necessary to maintain professional knowledge and licensure
- Attends relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of Variety’s mission, values, programs and services, and strategic plan
- Understanding of legal criteria for issues such as confidentiality, child abuse, and mandated reporter requirements
- Ability to provide nonviolent intervention with a high level of ethical standards of conduct, cultural sensitivity and within appropriate boundaries and limits
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by courteous, cordial, cooperative, and professional interaction with diverse groups of co-workers, external business partners, and the community
- Adheres to all Variety and departmental policies and procedures
- Must be responsible and trustworthy
- Attends all Variety in-services as required
- Strong verbal communication skills and effectively communicate with individuals and groups
Minimum Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in law enforcement and/or security experience servicing Educational, Hospital or Government entities.
Minimum Education: Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
