Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on construction sites, including low voltage and high voltage wiring.
- Handle and operate various power tools and hand tools safely and effectively, following all safety protocols.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support electrical installation tasks.
- Support framing carpentry activities as needed, including measuring, cutting, and assembling structural components.
- Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical circuits under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools, materials, and debris.
- Follow all safety guidelines outlined by the National Electrical Code (NEC) and site-specific safety procedures.
- Assist with the setup of construction sites, including material handling and preparing work areas for installation activities.
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working as an industrial or commercial electrician is highly preferred; familiarity with electrical systems is essential.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, schematics, blueprints reading, and low/high voltage wiring is required.
- Knowledge of NEC standards and safety practices on construction sites is a plus.
- Ability to operate testing devices such as ohmmeters confidently for troubleshooting purposes.
- Construction site experience is necessary; familiarity with framing carpentry adds value.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills to follow instructions clearly.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety awareness.
