Benefits Verification Specialist
Obtains full and accurate benefits and eligibility information for incoming patients
Interface with insurance companies via phone or web-based portal to obtain benefit and eligibility information for our patients.
Complete and accurate data entry of EMR benefit records for patient insurance policies.
Communicates with patients via telephone and/or written correspondence regarding their insurance benefits.
Maintains Excel spreadsheet to track progress of benefit and eligibility verification.
Runs reports as needed from EMR system to ensure all incoming patients are verified prior to their first visit.
Applies general knowledge of various insurance plans.
Applies specific knowledge of accumulations and how copays, deductibles, and coinsurance apply to patients out of pocket expenses.
Works with Billing staff to update new policies and ensure accurate insurance billing.
Attends all staff meetings
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
