Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product demonstrations when applicable
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions efficiently and handle cash, credit cards, and mobile payments
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring products are well-stocked and visually appealing through merchandising and stocking tasks
• Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to enhance their purchase experience
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining professional phone etiquette when assisting via phone or online inquiries
• Manage inventory levels through stock checks and communicate low-stock items to management for replenishment
• Support store operations by supervising new team members when needed, ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Previous supervising or leadership experience in retail or grocery store environments is a plus
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
• Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual settings to connect effectively with diverse customers
• Experience conducting product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking techniques, and store layout optimization
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to foster positive interactions
• Basic math skills for balancing registers and managing cash flow confidently
• Demonstrated ability to upsell products naturally while maintaining a friendly approach
