Duties
- Lead and supervise all store activities, including sales, customer service, inventory management, and staff scheduling to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to foster a high-performing and motivated workforce.
- Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to maintain accurate financial records.
- Oversee purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and inventory control to optimize stock levels and reduce shrinkage.
- Implement effective marketing initiatives and visual merchandising to attract customers and boost sales.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and training & development programs to enhance team skills.
- Maintain excellent communication with staff and customers by demonstrating phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.
- Monitor sales data, retail math metrics, and store budgets to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, store policies, and legal regulations while fostering a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervising responsibilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, merchandising, POS systems, cash handling, and retail math.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, purchasing, and store administration practices.
- Ability to handle customer inquiries professionally using phone etiquette while maintaining organizational skills.
- Prior assistant manager or shift management experience is preferred; supervisory experience is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock stocking, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
