As a Material Handler at VAP Steel, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with our Lead material handlers to ensure efficient production lines and quality material handling.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas
- Operate forklift to move materials around the facility and stack them safely
- Use a jib crane to lift steel mults and place them on a skid
- Package materials according to work orders or verbal instructions from Lead material handlers
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety standards and guidelines
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior forklift experience and willingness to obtain Forklift certification
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to lift 50 pounds comfortably and stand for extended periods
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
