Focus: Content Strategy, Client Messaging, Campaign Planning, and Marketing Coordination
Location: Morton, MN
Job Type: Full-Time, 32 hours per week
Compensation: $27.04 per hour; equivilant to $45,000 annually based on experience and skills

The Client Marketing Strategist role focuses on content development, campaign planning, client communication, and strategic marketing coordination across multiple client accounts.

Position Overview

The Client Marketing Strategist is responsible for developing client messaging, coordinating campaign direction, and supporting strategic marketing efforts across digital, print, and social platforms.

This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role. The person in this position will work closely with clients to understand their goals, gather information, guide content direction, and help move marketing projects forward.

Internally, this role serves as a bridge between strategy, content development, design, and campaign execution. The Client Marketing Strategist helps shape messaging, organize project direction, communicate client needs to the team, and ensure campaigns align with client goals, brand voice, and VantagePoint’s quality standards.

This position requires strong communication, comfort working directly with clients, and the ability to collaborate closely with the internal VantagePoint team.

Key ResponsibilitiesContent Strategy & Messaging

  • Lead development of blogs, website copy, campaign messaging, and strategic content
  • Craft messaging aligned with each client’s mission, voice, and audience
  • Develop campaign themes, storytelling concepts, and content direction
  • Apply SEO best practices to written website and blog content
  • Assist with content planning and long-form storytelling initiatives

Campaign Planning & Coordination

  • Participate in campaign planning and strategy discussions
  • Coordinate messaging direction and campaign structure before production begins
  • Develop timelines, organize deliverables, and support workflow coordination
  • Gather client assets, information, and approvals as needed
  • Help ensure campaigns move consistently from planning through execution

Client Communication & Relationship Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned projects and client communication
  • Help identify client needs and opportunities for future marketing support
  • Support planning meetings, content discussions, and campaign reviews
  • Maintain professional communication and follow-through with clients and team members

Reporting & Marketing Insights

  • Review social media, website, and campaign performance data
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly reports and strategic recommendations in collaboration with the internal team
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement across campaigns

Strategic Campaign & Creative Direction Support

  • Develop the strategy behind comprehensive marketing campaigns, including messaging direction, audience focus, campaign goals, and recommended channels
  • Coordinate campaign concepts across social media, website content, email marketing, print materials, video, and other client touchpoints
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure creative assets support the overall campaign strategy and client goals
  • Provide clear direction for visuals, messaging, and campaign flow without serving as the primary graphic designer
  • Support video scripting, content planning, campaign outlines, and multimedia direction as needed
  • Ensure campaign pieces work together cohesively across platforms and reflect the client’s voice, goals, and brand identity

  • Messaging should be substantially complete and client-ready before review
  • Deadlines are expected to be met consistently
  • Communication regarding delays, missing information, or project concerns should be proactive
  • Internal workflow and organization should support efficient campaign execution
  • Willingness to adapt to the changing needs of clients, coworkers and industry

What We Are Looking For/Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in communications, marketing, nonprofit leadership, or related fields
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience managing projects, timelines, and client communication
  • Ability to balance strategy, creativity, and organization
  • Professional and dependable communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with campaign planning and content strategy
  • Familiarity with SEO, AEO and digital marketing best practices
  • Willingness to learn AI tools for marketing efficiency
  • Basic graphic design experience using Canva or similar platforms
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and analytics
  • Bonus: Video scripting, editing, or multimedia coordination experience

Compensation, Classification & Schedule

This is a hourly position based on a 32-hour work week, or 64 hours within a two-week pay period.

Compensation is paid bi-weekly according to the agreed-upon salary structure.

VantagePoint values flexibility and understands that things come up. When needed and approved, schedule adjustments may be made within the same two-week pay period. For example, an employee may work 24 hours one week and 40 hours the following week, as long as no single workweek exceeds 40 hours and the total scheduled hours within the pay period remain consistent.

Any hours worked beyond 40 in a single workweek must be approved in advance by management and will be handled in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.

Work Environment

This position is based out of the Morton office and is not classified as a fully remote role. VantagePoint values flexibility and understands that weather, illness, family needs, and project schedules may occasionally require remote work adjustments.

Employees in this position are expected to work from the Morton office a minimum of 4 days per week to support collaboration, communication, planning, and team workflow.

Additional in-office time may be requested for meetings, trainings, client projects, or other business needs.

SIMPLE IRA

Matching contribution of up to 3%, beginning after 6 months of employment.

Expense Reimbursement

Reimbursement for 50% of cell phone and home internet expenses annually, plus mileage reimbursement at the current federal rate for travel to and from client meetings.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

PTO is accrued at a rate of 1 hour for every 20.8 hours worked.

For a regularly scheduled 32-hour per week position, this accrual rate is equivalent to 80 hours of PTO annually.

PTO accrual begins immediately, and employees may carry over up to 160 hours annually.
