What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Agriculture Service Technician position at Vantage South?
Vantage South is seeking qualified applicants for a Technical Support and Service position in the Southeast Alabama area. Candidates with experience in the following areas will be given preference;
- Trimble Agriculture equipment operation and maintenance
- Precision Planting equipment operation and maintenance
- CapstanAg hardware operation and maintenance
- 12v electronics diagnostics and repair
- General GPS equipment and differential corrections
- General agronomy practices in southern crop systems
- General modern planter systems
- General modern sprayer systems
- General understanding of hydraulic systems
- Operation of large farm equipment and implements
Candidates with limited experience in these areas but with aptitude for electrical, mechanical, and technical systems and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply as well.
Position duties and responsibilities will include;
- Installing and supporting Trimble, Precision Planting, CapstanAG, 360 Yield Center, Harvest International, Yetter, Martin, and other Precision Ag equipment.
- Keeping up to date service records, job status, inventory records, and entering sales orders in our CRM system.
Work schedule mirrors that of our farmer customers. Expect long hours in the planting and harvesting seasons with less busy times in the summer and winter seasons. Compensation will be competitive and is awarded based on experience or training needed. Salary range will be $35,000-$75,000/year depending on experience and training needed. Commission will be awarded on each billed service hour. Employees are not required to check in to any office daily, and will primarily work out of their truck. Benefits include;
