About the role:
At Vantage, the Actuarial Analyst, Reserving will provide reserving support to a variety of insurance and reinsurance lines written out of Bermuda. This position will be integral in carrying out the reserving process and in building out the analysis and tools needed for robust reserve estimation. The position will report to the Senior Reserving Actuary, Bermuda.
The base salary expectation for this role is between $85,000 and $105,000. Actual base salary for the selected candidate may be higher commensurate with candidate experience and expectations. Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Perform reserve analysis, leveraging internal and external data and intelligence
Collaborate closely with pricing, claims, finance, and data/analytics to ensure well-informed assumptions and methodologies for reserving
Assist with building and maintaining relevant reserving methods, tools and monitoring metrics to aid in reserve analysis and support the business
Assist in creating quarterly reports, presentations and other materials for various audiences
Contribute to adherence to local regulatory requirements and actuarial best practices within reserving analysis
Find innovative and creative ways to leverage data and analytics to support the reserving function
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1 – 3 years of actuarial experience required
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, statistics, economics, or a related field; or the equivalent in work experience
Two or more exam passes preferred and / or strong desire to pursue qualification with either the CAS or the IFOA (qualification with other recognized actuarial societies may also be considered)
Prior experience within the P&C insurance and/or reinsurance industry focused on reserve analysis preferred
Skilled with Excel and other reporting tools (such as PowerBI)
Experience in scripting or programming languages is a plus (VBA, R, Python, SQL)
Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate with business partners such as claims, finance, accounting, underwriting, IT, and data & analytics
Effective at prioritizing and managing various tasks in a dynamic work environment
