What You’ll Be Doing
As a Systems Engineering Technician at VPS, you will work primarily with VPS’s growing Managed Services Team to deliver high-quality firewall and endpoint security management to organizations across multiple industries. You will work both independently and collaboratively to configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, antivirus, EDR, and related systems.
You will also conduct client assessments, write reports, make recommendations for improvement, and communicate with clients both verbally and in writing. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of Vantage Point’s cybersecurity services while helping drive innovation and the development of new solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct all phases of the firewall management lifecycle, including planning, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and client consultation to remediate identified issues
- Configure, manage, and support enterprise firewall environments and VPN solutions
- Respond to and resolve customer service requests in a prompt, efficient, and professional manner
- Provide support for system security configurations and implementations
- Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders
- Continuously monitor industry threats and trends and apply insights to strengthen security posture
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or a related field required
- Hands-on experience with firewall technologies (configuration, rule management, monitoring, and troubleshooting) required
- Experience with VPNs, endpoint security tools (AV/EDR), and general network security principles
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and threat mitigation
- Unparalleled attention to detail
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to follow established processes while maintaining strong organizational discipline
- Strong desire to continuously learn and grow within cybersecurity and networking
- Travel expected to be less than 5%, with ability to travel within the United States as needed
- Must be able to pass a full background investigation
