Job Description: Seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to support our Aerospace and Automotive Products business unit within our metals production, fabrication, Aluminum.
Operations around the world with manufacturing and commercial sites in North America, South America, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Asia, and Russia. As suppliers to the aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, building and construction, industrial, and packaging and consumer goods markets, our high-quality materials are the foundation for many products that touch everyday life.
Responsibilities: The Staff Electrical Engineer will provide electrical engineering services to the Hot Rolling department to safely meet our business plan by providing support to production, maintenance, and engineering. In this role, you will serve as a critical team member in the efficiency, output, and quality of our processes and will be responsible for electrical systems safely integrated with manufacturing, along with upgrades of existing equipment.
Additional responsibilities: Coordinate all phases of assigned area electrical engineering projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure.
- Lead and participate in problem solving efforts with multi-discipline technical staff, maintenance and production.
- Use PI Vision and Data Link to analyze process issues, provide input to solve process problems.
- Create and develop electrical control solutions that will support process improvements and improve equipment reliability.
- Assist production and maintenance with equipment and process issues.
- PLC/HMI and controls redesign and upgrades of existing processes.
- Install and troubleshoot camera systems on industrial equipment.
- Incorporate SMART Manufacturing principles and tools into automated inspection systems to improve processes, data collection/analysis, and drive quick results in recovery improvements.
- May mentor employees to increase their knowledge of equipment and process, when needed.
- While this position is a primarily day-shift position, off-hours support will be required as needed.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at time of employment from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as an electrical engineer
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing, installing, maintaining electromechanical systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project programs

Preferred Qualifications: 12 years of experience in a manufacturing facility
- 5 years’ experience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives & motors and measuring devices
- 3 years or more of experience in leading electrical projects
- Manufacturing experience in a highly industrial environment. Proficiency with Rockwell programming software (i.e.: RS Logix and FactoryView). Candidate Details: 7 to 10 years’ experience//Seniority Level - Mid-Senior
Management Experience Required – No//Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree
Ideal Candidate: Supporting the rolling mill//Old GE equipment and newer equipment//GE experience is good to have Rockwell, Siemens PLC's and HMI// 480 for staff electrical//Project engineering//Writing specs for upgrades//Managing contractors//Needs to be her right-hand person for the hiring manager
