Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer – Automation & Platforms to provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and modernizing enterprise automation platforms supporting digital manufacturing and industrial operations. This role requires deep expertise in software architecture, industrial automation technologies, cloud platforms, enterprise integrations, and scalable application development. The ideal candidate will drive engineering excellence, establish technical standards, mentor development teams, and lead strategic automation initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise automation platforms supporting manufacturing and industrial operations.
• Develop scalable software solutions integrating PLC, SCADA, DCS, and HMI systems with enterprise applications.
• Define software architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices for automation platforms.
• Design and implement cloud-native solutions using modern enterprise architecture principles.
• Lead software modernization initiatives, platform enhancements, and digital transformation projects.
• Build secure APIs, reusable services, and enterprise integration frameworks to improve scalability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with controls engineers, software developers, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end automation solutions.
• Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering governance activities.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term reliability improvements.
• Mentor senior engineers and development teams while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
• Ensure software solutions comply with organizational security, quality, and performance standards.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, cloud platforms, automation frameworks, and Industry 4.0 innovations.
Required Skills
• Extensive experience developing enterprise software solutions for industrial automation or manufacturing environments.
• Expert knowledge of PLC, SCADA, DCS, and HMI technologies.
• Strong programming experience with C#, Java, Python, C , or similar object-oriented languages.
• Experience designing scalable enterprise applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and SDLC best practices.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and automation frameworks.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management abilities.
