What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler (Nights) position at Vantage Plastics?
This is a night position. Schedule is 2-2-3.
Job Summary
A Material Handler is responsible to move, store, and handle materials in the production facility. This position will play a key role in the supply chain and logistics.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintaining a safe work environment by following safety protocols.
- Learn and use Plex and Cella Programs.
- Organizing stock in the warehouse efficiently using forklift and pallets.
- Assisting in auditing Component/Finished Goods Inventories.
- Promptly delivering needed Components from Component Locations to actively running machines.
- Count, Verify and Initial Finished Goods and WIP Tags and move to proper location.
- Identifying, locating, and loading the correct products to the machine during the Production Process.
- Removing all left-over Product from Machines when a Production Job is finished. Returning to correct Locations.
- Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting daily equipment checks.
- Shop Cleanliness.
- When required help support the Shipping/Receiving Department. Loading, Unloading and or Staging Product.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Experience driving a forklift is helpful be not required. Training will be provided if needed.
- Pass Online Forklift Test.
- Complete LMS Course, MH-101 Material Handler Responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, and twist for continuous periods of time.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
