Job Summary
The Janitor role keeps the office, manufacturing floor and breakrooms clean and orderly. Performs heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors and removing rubbish.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness at several buildings located in Standish, including Vantage Plastics, Airpark Plastics, Edge Material Management, Training Center, and The WELL.
- Collects/disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
- Moves equipment/furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back.
- Clean the interior of buildings including windows and walls.
- Vacuum, sweep and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
- Clean and maintain restrooms.
- Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones.
- Performs minor building maintenance activities including cleaning, painting replacing air filters and maintain HVAC systems.
- Operates/maintains floor sweeper, scrubber and any other equipment required.
- Cleans parking lot, which includes picking up ear plugs, gloves, cigarettes, any other trash that is visible and snow from sidewalks.
- Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed.
- Ensures a clean, safe environment for visitors and staff, including safety walkway.
- Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
- Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with co-workers and customers.
- Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
