What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grinder (Nights) position at Vantage Plastics?
This is a night position. Schedule is 2-2-3.
Job Summary
A Grinder is a specialized material handler at Vantage Plastics with the goal of maintaining a safe work environment in production cells by removing and processing scrap materials. Grinders have intimate knowledge of what materials are being used in production and understand how to process and store them.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Keep shop floor clean of all scrap material.
- Must be aware of all different materials being used in production and have a plan to mitigate risk of mixing materials when processing.
- Support other Material Handlers when needed.
- Empty trash and floor sweep containers at each cell.
- Inspect equipment and fork truck(s) and request maintenance support in PLEX when necessary.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have fork truck license.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- 1 year of experience working with Plex, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, reach, bend, twist, over long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly over 12 hours shifts.
- Needs to be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate with other Hilo drivers.
