We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves the design and development of electrical systems, focusing on medium to high voltage (69kV to 500kV) applications across industries such as oil & gas, power generation, substations, and steel manufacturing.
You will be responsible for producing accurate electrical design drawings using AutoCAD Electrical, and supporting multidisciplinary projects from concept through to execution. This is a hybrid position, offering a blend of remote and in-office work for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and draft electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
- Develop medium to high voltage electrical systems (69kV–500kV) for power, oil & gas, and industrial facilities
- Contribute to substation and heavy industrial design projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE)
- Support project planning, cost estimation, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and clients
- Conduct site visits, technical reviews, and field support as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 2–10 years of experience in electrical design within oil & gas, power, substations, or steel industry experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical is required
- Strong understanding of medium to high voltage systems (69kV–500kV)
- Familiarity with industry standards including NEC, IEEE, and NESC
- EIT or FE certification required; PE license strongly preferred or in progress
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment
