Mastercam (Lathe & Mill) CNC Programmer

VanSpeag Group (VSG) is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support precision machining operations in Plainfield, IL. This is a hands-on role for a programmer who can take parts from print to production with minimal oversight, working across both lathe and milling platforms. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Program CNC lathes and mills using Mastercam 
• Develop, edit, and optimize toolpaths for efficiency and quality 
• Set up, prove out, and troubleshoot new programs at the machine 
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for a variety of materials 
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications 
• Support first-article inspection and continuous improvement efforts 
• Collaborate with machinists, quality, and engineering teams 

REQUIREMENTS 

• Proficiency in Mastercam (required) 
• Strong proficiency in both lathe and milling programming/operation 
• Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T 
• Experience with setups, offsets, and program prove-outs 
• Solid understanding of tooling, workholding, and machining best practices 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• 3 years of CNC programming experience in a production or job shop environment 
• Multi-axis machining experience a plus
