Position Summary

Performs Field and Sustainment Level maintenance such as, but not limited to paint, rust corrosion removal and servicing or repairs on military and commercial equipment as prescribed in the equipment Technical Manuals (TM's), Commercial Equipment Manuals, and all other applicable manuals.

Essential Functions

· Ensure compliance and quality of performance.

· Perform the full range of work involved in the coating surfaces of motor vehicles such as automobiles, buses, and trucks with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from vehicle, using liquid paint remover and scraper, smooths surface with sandpaper and steel wool.

· Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to surface, masks, and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted, paints vehicle or specified portion of vehicle and may paint insignia, letters or numerals on vehicle surface using stencils.

· Estimate time and materials required. Keep computerized records and submit reports of work performed.

· Assists less experienced workers in repair and maintenance techniques. Observes all rules, regulations, and procedures.

· Able to use pneumatic tools and have knowledgeable of metal, aluminum, and fiberglass preparation techniques in accordance with specifications.

· Comply with all personal protection requirements and able to wear full-face respirators.

· Provides preventative maintenance for all equipment associated with the performance of maintenance where applicable. Maintain shop housekeeping and physical image of shop.

· Maintains appropriate government required paperwork such as, but not limited to: DA Form 2407, DA Form 2404 and files (Job Packets) necessary for the maintenance and repair of the equipment.

· Perform maintenance in accordance with the standards to include, but not be limited to, AR 750-8, DA PAM 750-8, with in the Prescribe Work Statement (PWS) - Material Maintenance sections 5.1 – 5.10 and all other applicable publications

Minimum Requirements

· Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling very heavy parts and loads.

· Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as required to work on equipment.

· Maintains preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, cleans common shop and work areas to maintain a safe work environment.

· Be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions when necessary.

· Ensure that all tasks are performed safely.

· Wearing safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other items such as aprons or outerwear as appropriate.

· Employee is required to maintain a valid state-issued Driver’s license and applicable Government/Army license.

· Perform other duties as required to support the mission and contractual requirements.

General Requirements

· Excellent written and oral communications skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Ability to complete and prioritize tasks on multiple concurrent projects within given timeframes.

· Work well in a team environment and able to work with a diverse group of people.

· Discretion and trustworthiness due to frequent contact with confidential material.

· Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and all others in a courteous and professional manner.

· Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

· Perform other duties as required to support the mission and contractual requirements.

Education and Citizenship Requirements

· Desirable: 24 months hands on experience of surface preparation and paint application.

· Required: US nationality/citizenship and residence, with verbal and written fluency in English.

·This is a civilian position and doesn't require enlistment
