Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Manager III to oversee multiple construction projects and serve as VANIR's senior representative in the field. This leadership role requires supervising subcontractors, material, and equipment providers, ensuring quality control across all projects, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be service-driven, knowledgeable, and determined to succeed while managing complex project portfolios.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
- Coordinate subcontractors and vendors across the assigned market area
- Provide one-on-one mentoring to help subcontractors, vendors, and subordinate teammates grow and master their roles
- Serve as safety coordinator, ensuring all Safety and Quality Forms are completed for every job
Project Oversight & Quality Control
- Walk 100% of projects within the assigned area to maintain VANIR's quality standards
- Oversee construction projects from pre-construction through 100% completion
- Ensure work is completed to meet and exceed all company and manufacturer standards
- Coordinate with subcontractors, construction managers, and vendors
- Monitor and maintain industry standard software and applications daily for accuracy and updates, as well as Vanir's proprietary software and applications
Daily Operations
- Schedule deliveries and coordinate with vendors and crews
- Interview crews, review project scope, negotiate pricing, and select optimal subcontractors
- Travel between numerous job sites daily (company vehicle provided)
- Perform OSHA/Safety inspections upon arrival at ongoing job sites
- Enforce quality control, OSHA safety standards, and jobsite expectations
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within scope and budget
- Serve as the builder's first point of contact for issue resolution
- Deal with government inspectors, making appropriate adjustments for compliance
- Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders
- Maintain Primavera or equivalent Construction Schedule for all projects
- Report timely on project progress, project P&L, project delays or cost overruns
Administrative Duties
- Receive and maintain weekly reports from the General Manager
- Input information into VANIR, and customer-specific software per policy
- Document Record(s) of Safety Meeting as per OSHA requirement for all projects
- Maintain project profitability and on-time completion reports
- Trouble shoot any project-related concerns to reduce and/or eliminate project delays or cost overruns
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in construction and 1 year in project management for commercial or residential construction
- Location: Must relocate to Raleigh,NC before starting work (relocation assistance provided)
- License: Valid Driver's License (required)
- Communication: Excellent communication skills in person and via electronic devices
- Mobility: Ability to travel between multiple job sites daily
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask efficiently
- Leadership experience in a construction environment
- P&L Responsibility for multiple departments, divisions, or projects simultaneously
