What You Will Do
- Review architectural drawings, project specifications, and work scopes to prepare estimates.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs of all materials, accessories, and labor.
- Collaborate with the sales team to review bid requests, clarify scope, and ensure accuracy in pricing.
- Analyze material and labor costs, factoring in waste and installation complexity.
- Provide value engineering options when applicable to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
- Preparing winning proposals and supporting documentation for customer presentations.
- Input and maintain data in estimating software and company systems (such as PlanSwift, Airtable, and Dropbox).
- Partner with field managers to support project handoff and resolve estimating discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product and service prices and offerings
What We Are Looking For
- Strong knowledge of estimating software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Onscreen or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of siding materials (fiber cement, vinyl, engineered wood, etc.) and installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- High school diploma (Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred)
- 3 years of construction estimating experience (siding, exterior cladding, or related trades preferred).
