Investment Product Manager

The Index Equity Product team is looking for a motivated new team member with a desire to think strategically about improving client outcomes and an interest in growing investment and business acumen!
The Index Equity Product team is responsible for the health, product design and strategy of Vanguard's equity index funds, ETFs and collective investment trusts. This role will have the opportunity to oversee Vanguard's largest product category, act as a critical partner to multiple departments, and work closely with Vanguard's Equity Index Group to improve the equity index product line-up.
Product Managers conduct strategic analysis on the opportunities and threats to the Vanguard product lineup, collaborate with business and investment teams to ensure the health of our product offer, lead crew product education efforts, support marketing and thought leadership for our products, and create & deliver relevant and data for the team, department, and organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Conducts analyses of investment product issues confronting Vanguard's product line-up. Leverages and manages cross-functional teams as required. Prepares and presents strategic analysis and recommendations to senior management at various forums.
- Manages projects from inception though implementation ensuring project deadlines are met. Defines project scope and requirements, establishes timelines, and ensures completion of deliverables. Manages various projects related to fund initiatives. Coordinates activities of various vanguard areas to support fund initiatives.
- Develops and maintains key internal stakeholder relationships across the organization.
- Attends and presents at industry conferences and client specific events related to the product category of focus.
- Leverages the client and sales feedback on products in order to assess product health and drive ongoing product improvements and positioning.
- Supports the creation of dynamic content used to position Vanguard investment products and to respond to investor queries.
- Creates and facilitates internal training and communications including training on launches and changes to existing products. Ensures coordination and consistency of product-related marketing initiatives and external communications across divisions.
- Contributes to business line research agendas to enhance client experience and business results.
- Stays current on industry, market, product, and competitive trends in the local markets supported.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Five years related work experience, including three years experience in product management and investment analysis/strategy. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- This job requires a regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA series 7 and 63, state, SFC). These will be determined by Compliance based on role-specific duties.
Special Factors
If you are offered and accept this position, and you do not have the necessary FINRA licenses for the role, then you must obtain the required licenses within the specified period of time. Additionally, if you are not currently registered with FINRA in any capacity, prior to moving into this licensed role, you will be asked to provide authorization for Vanguard to conduct a credit and criminal check in accordance with the FINRA regulations.
