Position Description:The Vanguard University Department of Nursing seeks to hire an adjunct nursing faculty to teach for the BSN Prelicensure program in a clinical setting. We are looking for Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Medical-Surgical/Critical Care, and Mental Health instructors with a minimum of one year of continuous direct patient care nursing experience or teaching as a clinical instructor in one of these clinical areas within the last five years. Applicants must hold a current active and unencumbered California RN license. The instructor is expected to be on site with the students during the clinical experience.
Essential Functions
The pay for this position varies depending on the degree attained and the scheduled shift. $50-55/hr ($3.00 weekend differential)

- Supervise and facilitate student learning in the clinical setting and skills lab.
- Assess student knowledge and skill level to ensure safety and best care for patients.
- Conduct pre- and post- conference to clarify objectives, communicate expectations and to allow students to discuss and share learned experiences.
- Evaluate student performance providing feedback to support student success
- Attend department, program, and/or clinical level meetings
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Established area of clinical experience and skills
