What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Unarmed Security Officer position at Vanguard Security Solutions PLLC?
We are looking for unarmed security officers to join our Vanguard Security Solutions team. Located in the City of Chicago, The officer maintains a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. You will patrol the interior and exterior of our client’s facility to prevent unauthorized access, property crimes and limit other incidents. We are currently seeking licensed unarmed officers. Additional certifications are highly valued.
You must collaborate with the other members of our team to mitigate potential risks. Our ideal candidate would have prior security experience.
Unarmed Security Officer Duties and Responsibilities
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling areas for safety & security risks; inspect premises, equipment, and access points; permitting unlawful entry.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and detaining trespassers when necessary.
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
- Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
- Maintains the organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Ensures equipment operation by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Carries a weapon for de-escalation and defensive purposes
- Prevents unauthorized access to the area and the items within
- Responds to reported incidents as necessary
- Maintains a log of any activities
- Documents any visitors to the property
- Coordinates with law enforcement as necessary
Unarmed Security Officer Requirements and Qualifications
- PERC Card
- 20-hour unarmed basic training certificate
- CPR certification is a plus
- Reliable form of transportation
- Physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work overnight on weekends, and holidays
- Observational and communication skills

Pay: $18.50 per hour
