Position Summary
Vanguard Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Surgical Authorization Specialist to support our surgical team. This individual will manage insurance verifications, obtain authorizations, and provide front-office support to ensure efficient and accurate coordination of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full insurance authorization process, including verifications, referrals, and use of insurance portals.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurers to ensure accurate documentation and approvals.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients with billing or authorization questions.
- Collaborate with the surgical and administrative teams to streamline authorization and scheduling workflows.
- Prioritize and meet required deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical insurance authorization and front office support.
- Experience with out-of-network authorizations preferred.
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Prognocis experience preferred).
- Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask effectively and thrive in a high-volume, high-pressure setting.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Language Requirements
English required; bilingual preferred.
