Project Engineer

Vanguard Maintenance & Electrical is a non-union electrical subcontractor specializing in large-scale commercial and data center construction. We take pride in delivering quality work and are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Project Engineer to support project execution through coordination, documentation, scheduling, and collaboration with project management and field teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Position Summary

The Project Engineer assists with project coordination, RFIs, submittals, scheduling, procurement, field documentation, and First-of-Kind (FOK) execution while working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, QA/QC, and field teams to ensure quality installations and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers and Superintendents with technical execution of electrical scopes
• Manage and coordinate First-of-Kind (FOK) installations, including preparation, review, and approval processes
• Track and manage RFIs, submittals, drawings, and electrical specifications
• Coordinate with QA/QC and field teams to ensure FOKs are approved and standardized for replication
• Print, manage, and distribute labels for electrical equipment, panels, feeders, racks, and devices in accordance with data center requirements
• Assist with electrical drawings, layouts, and field documentation to support installation accuracy
• Maintain accurate project records in construction management platforms (ACC, Procore, or similar)
• Coordinate with trade partners and internal teams to support installation readiness and field execution
• Participate in project meetings and assist with follow-up on technical and FOK-related action items
• Maintain clear communication between engineering, QA/QC, field operations, trade partners, and office leadership
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  
  

(or equivalent electrical field experience)

• 1–5 years of experience in electrical construction or project engineering
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, FOK processes, and labeling requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data center or mission-critical projects preferred
• Experience with ACC, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction platforms preferred
