Position Summary: To ensure that Vanguard delivers the highest quality service to our customers with providing custom quotes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Communicates with ARMS, scheduling, fabric receiving, claims, and customer service to keep consistent flow of information for custom quotes.
- Communicates directly with all manufacturers, coaches, sales reps, outside vendor reps and associates to assist with custom quotes and any issues.
- Provide custom quote pricing and information for all incoming custom requests.
- Review history of orders to ensure costing is accurate.
- Clearly understand and interpret customer request in order to write clear and precise internal and external notes for custom quotes.
- Must have knowledge of patterns, frames, cutting, upholstery and trim methods in order to clearly provide custom quotes.
- Look for frequent requests and trends and communicate with merchandising team.
- Provide support to customer service and product development about manufacturing concerning product information relating to custom pieces.
- Follow up on completed quotes.
- Review custom quote for accuracy and proficiency.
- Must be able to meet deadlines, be detail oriented, and keep notes.
- Maintain continued learning of new styles as developed by PD and merchandising.
- Maintain neat and orderly work station.
- Wears required safety glasses, work shoes and other PPE as defined for work areas; woks safely and reports unsafe conditions to department supervisor.
- Performs stretching exercises to relieve bodily tensions and warm, relax muscles.
- Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience:

· Customer oriented service skills including needs assessment, evaluation, and resolution.
· Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including AS400, Outlook, Fortis, Global Search, ECAD, Photoshop, Access and Excel.
Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:
· 2-Year Associates Degree preferred.
· Costing experience preferred.
· Knowledgeable in Furniture Manufacturing and Product Development.
Physical demands and work environment:
· Lift / Carry: frequently; up to 50 pounds occasionally; more weight requires help or team lifting.
· Standing/Walking/Sitting: Must be able to sit 8 hours and required to walk/stand, walk up/down stairs throughout shift.
· Reach / Handle: Frequently required to reach, handle various items.
· Fingering or Manual Dexterity: Position requires frequent use of computer keyboard, mouse, screen and on-line communication.
· Environment: Indoors, environmentally controlled.
· Vision: Color determination for quality control and correct material selection.
· Near Acuity: Requires close vision of less than 3 feet, with or without corrective lenses, for precision.
· Attention to Detail: Precise in following company guidelines for best cost solution to resolve customer issues.
· Self-Control: Job requires maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations.
