What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Engineer position at Vanguard Creative Staffing?
We’re working with our client to source a Senior Packaging Engineer to manage all types of packaging programs for various business units. Our client needs a technical expert in the field and we’ll be a key technical lead on project teams.
You’ll supports the packaging team with technical expertise to Identify and assess technical problems and provide solutions and recommendations.
You must have a technical background in packaging, packaging systems and packaging applications for this position.
In this role you’ll:
- Develop and design new packaging for safe, convenient and attractive transport of products under a variety of conditions.
- Develop packaging material standards and specifications.
- Review existing test methods and develop new test methods where applicable.
- Evaluate packaging and transporting methods and procedures to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Evaluate and recommend efficient packing procedures, innovations in packaging materials, and utilization of automation where needed.
- Develop engineering drawings and specifications with suppliers to determine materials and design required to maximize convenience.
- Design and coordinate laboratory tests plant trials to assess technical feasibility in the qualification of new materials, and equipment.
- Provide technical support to ensure quality standards, package performance, and continued supply of products and packaging materials.
