What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior AI Technical Trainer position at Vanguard and Careers?
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Trainer to play a heightened role with department-wide accountability, being on point for creating connective tissue and integration of learning solutions for continuous tech upskilling offers for IT prioritized skills and experiences, driving technical enablement across IT division. Someone who can also integrate a culture of fun, excitement intermixed with gamification and learning. The right candidate should be able to bring in a differentiated degree of technical skill where the individual is expected to code firsthand to keep skills fresh, create practical/hands-on technical learning experiences, and embed learning into the flow of work where possible.
This role will also be responsible for design and deliver impactful learning experiences that accelerate Vanguard’s adoption of AI and emerging technologies. This role focuses on creating customized upskilling workshops, enhancing social learning, and Deliver engaging technical training in physical and virtual environments using adult learning principles.
Design & facilitate engaging training solutions —both in-person and virtual—and developing practical Workshops grounded in adult learning principles aligned to IT prioritized skills.
Consult with business partners & Tech experts across IT sub divisions. Provide thought leadership of driving AI technical learning strategy, including highly complex AI space and recommend effective solutions for Vanguard IT Crew globally.
Apply strong technical knowledge to ensure accuracy and relevance of training content.
Leverage IT expertise to incorporate emerging technologies and comply with organizational standards.
Evaluate training effectiveness using data and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Bring tech into planning and prioritization work effectively and appropriately. Navigate technical challenges and impediments.
Responsibilities:
Develop and facilitate prioritized AI learning workshops aligned to prioritized IT Personas
Partner with stakeholders to design learning content aligned to support the initiative.
Be a Coach and an informal leader on the team driving development of other junior trainers in the department
Design/ customize and facilitate critical skills workshops to integrate Vanguard specific content and use cases.
Strengthen 70/20/10 learning through Communities of Practice and skill guilds.
Demonstrates strategic mindset, navigates ambiguity, leads team during times of need, and supports department need
What we’re looking for:
Experience in designing technical training and instructional design.
Strong facilitation skills and ability to tailor content for technical audiences.
Technical expertise including AI skills & tools and eager to learn new emerging tech skills.
Experience with social learning strategies (CoPs, guilds) preferred.
They should be familiar with Vibe Coding / AI Assisted Development Tools and techniques and how to host a productive hack-a-thon.
Builds productive working relationships with key partners to ensure recommendations and priorities are understood by all impacted parties. Leverages influencing and negotiation skills to champion optimal solutions.
Qualifications:
Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least three years of development experience.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
