Social Media Creator & Coordinator
Job Overview: VanGilder Enterprises, LLC (lodging, recreation and event venue industries) is looking for a detail-oriented, creative, and tech-savvy Social Media Creator & Coordinator to support our three primary business units with production and content promotion across social media.
This full-time role is perfect for someone with experience in social media content creation and scheduling, video editing and SEO who thrives in a fast-paced workflow.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Social Media Content Creation & Scheduling:
- Create Engaging Social Media Posts to promote new and evergreen content across platforms: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and others.
- Write Captivating Captions & Headlines that align with brand voice and drive engagement.
- Upload & Schedule Social Media Content using Scheduling Tools or other platforms.
- Repurpose Existing Content into engaging social media graphics, carousels, or short-form video ideas.
- Track Performance & Engagement of social media content, making recommendations for improvement.
- Develop resources to assist employees when promoting business units, encouraging engagement, comfort and brand consistency.
Video and Photo Production & Editing:
- Plan & Schedule video and photos by looking for opportunities to capture footage that can be used across platforms and for multiple uses. Experience with drones and alternative video tools is a plus.
- Splice, Edit and add Graphics to Videos following industry standards and brand consistency.
- Upload & Optimize Images: Select, resize, and upload photos, ensuring proper formatting and alt-text for SEO.
- Seek out Opportunities across various organizations, publications and regions to feature our media (IPBS, Travel Iowa, Iowa Sportsman, RV Life, among many others).
Website Content & Other Contributions:
- Work with the Marketing Team to develop new content for our dynamic websites and other projects.
- Attend Events on-site and around the communities to capture content, represent the business(es) in a professional manner and develop connections for the benefit of the enterprise.
- Attend and Contribute to Marketing Team, enterprise and business unit meetings in person and/or over Zoom.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
Social Media Fluent – You know what works on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube you can create content that engages and converts.
Experienced in Photography and Videography – You have education, skills and/or experience in both photography and videography, especially in today’s digital, multi-platform world. You can demonstrate your skill by providing examples of your work.
SEO-Savvy – You understand the importance of on-page SEO, including keywords, meta descriptions, and alt-text.
Detail-Oriented & Organized – You ensure everything is polished before publishing.
A Strong Writer with Brand Awareness – You can craft engaging, on-brand social captions and headlines.
A Reliable Communicator – You work well with teams and can follow instructions while proactively solving problems.
Job Details:
Position: Full-time. Insurance, vacation and benefits eligible.
Hours: Tuesdays-Saturdays. This position may start out Part-time over the winter season builing up to an expected 40-44 hours per week with additional hours possible during peak season weeks (holidays and special events between May September). Some evenings, weekends and holidays are expected.
Rate: Competitive, based on experience
Office Location: Remote with regular travel expected. Driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance are required with this role.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.
