Duties
- Assist with tree trimming, pruning, and planting to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal using proper horticultural techniques.
- Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment safely for elevated tree work.
- Perform rigging operations for tree removal or branch management, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Support arborists in tree care activities, including climbing, rigging, and dismantling hazardous trees.
- Conduct ground-based tasks such as lawn care, landscape maintenance, and general site cleanup to support overall project goals.
- Use chainsaws and other hand tools responsibly for cutting and removal tasks while adhering to safety standards.
- Follow all safety procedures diligently during outdoor work to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
Skills
- Strong outdoor work experience with a focus on horticulture, landscaping, or arboriculture.
- Knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, trimming, and plant health assessment.
- Experience operating bucket trucks, aerial lifts, or similar equipment safely.
- Familiarity with rigging techniques used in tree removal and arborist rigging operations.
- Ability to identify different tree species through dendrology knowledge for appropriate care practices.
- Proficiency with tools such as chainsaws and hand tools used in tree trimming and removal.
- Understanding of safety protocols related to working at heights, heavy equipment operation, and outdoor environments.
